Musings on Miniature Titanic Ship...

Posted by
Sunder (Chennai, India) on 3 January 2011 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

A souvenir from Southampton....

The "unsinkable" Titanic which set sail from Southampton to New York(1912) sank during its maiden voyage by colliding with an iceberg...

Perhaps the words "NEVER" , "ALWAYS" ought not to be taken seriously....
Like the cliche - "The only two certainties in life are death and taxes."

kitty from Seoul, South Korea

Ah, so it was Southampton that you mentioned a few posts ago...My son is doing his post-grad there, having done biology. Is that where you studied?

3 Jan 2011 10:24am

@CElliottUK: Yes thats where I trained/last worked...for about 5 years until 2003. The West Quay state-of-the-art swimming pool ( with a dynamic floor...a shallow end could be converted to a deep end suited for diving)was just then opened....Fantastic pool..enrolled to a swimming class there and seven years later ..I am still learning to swim.

Delicate appearance to a huge ship and that this ended his days! I like these small designs! Best regards, Sunder!, Adela

Good evening Sunder,
An interesting vessel with a famous name in an excellent close-up. It is also interesting for my husband. He builds model ships. Have a nice time and all the best. Dear greetings Christel

Yes, 'never say never', as history has often showed us. What a neat model, and the Titanic story was such a fascinating and tragic one.

I LOVE THE TONALITY.

An interesting model that looks rather antique, but in good shape. I love the detail with all of those windows. Titanic has been in the news a lot lately, including the recent death of the actress Gloria Stuart, who was in the Titanic movie with Leo DiCapprio.
