Prayer Wheels @ Buddhist Temple, Manali

Posted by
Sunder (Chennai, India) on 5 May 2011 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Spinning these spindles / prayer wheels is a tibetian buddhist tradition .According to the lineage texts on prayer wheels, prayer wheels are used to accumulate wisdom and merit (good karma) and to purify negativities (bad karma)

Kids would love this and yet be too tiny to spin unless you lifted them. A wonderful
prayer tradition keeps the interest up while the sermon is being performed. Great
photo and wonderful decorative effect for the temple.

What an interesting find! A nice PoV as this man partakes in this tradition. And the lighting does a great job of revealing what is on the wheels.
